Get Started

This is the first in our ‘How to teach PE’ series with a focus on Models-based Practice (MbP). It is free to access for PE Scholar members and intended to support physical educators to have the confidence to experiment with and adopt a range of teaching approaches.

Other courses in this series that will be landing later in 2024 include:

  • PEdagogy ideas – popular teaching techniques applied to physical education
  • Spectrum of Teaching Styles – unpicking Mosston and Ashworth’s work to ensure a rich and varied delivery of PE
  • Adaptive Teaching – using the STEP principle and other ideas to ensure access, challenge and enjoyment for all

It should take a couple of hours to complete and is separated into short chapters that drill into six models we think all PE teachers should have in their toolkits for regular use. Feel free to complete this course in small chunks or all in one go, and remember you can go back and revisit any content for the life of your PE Scholar membership. If you have already completed our PE Curriculum Design programme you will be familiar with some of the content.
