As a passionate PE teacher and Head of Department, my journey in education has been driven by a commitment to challenge stereotypes and create inclusive environments where all learners can thrive, regardless of gender, background, or ability. I initially began my teaching career as a science teacher before transitioning back into PE—a subject I hold close to my heart.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in a variety of grammar and comprehensive, each with its own unique set of students and challenges. I have worked extensively to engage girls in PE, particularly those from ethnic backgrounds, helping them see the value in sport and physical activity. Outside of my teaching role, I collaborate with the Darnall Educational Sports Academy (DESA), where we use sport to break down barriers, unite communities, and empower young people through physical activity.
