Biography |
For me, movement and being active is such a vital part of how we see and experience the world, and this has been ingrained throughout my life, and started with my journey in Physical Education. I was fortunate enough to be good at traditional sports at school and was part of an athletics group outside of school, and it is only recently I have understood how those early positive experiences have shaped my relationship with physical activity and sport over the course of the rest of my life. I have had a career working in the medical, lifestyle and sports industry, from hospitals to Joe Wicks and a competitive sailing series, to Podium Analytics in my current role, where my ambition is to reduce the risk of injury for all young people across schools and grassroots clubs, promoting lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
For many, including close friends and family members, this has not the case and their relationships with being active now look very different. Physical education provides often the very first opportunity for all children and young people access the physical, psychological, social, and emotional benefits that physical activity can offer as well as building skills for life. It is a great privilege to be part of the PE Scholar family and contribute to impactful and meaningful change across the sector.
