Biography |
Nathan is an educator and academic with a passion for Physical Education and Initial Teacher Education. He is currently the Postgraduate Physical Education Programme Coordinator and a Lecturer at Plymouth Marjon University. Throughout his career, which has taken him from the UK to Qatar, Malaysia, and China, he has had the opportunity to gather diverse experiences that have shaped his understanding of PE and teaching.
Nathan’s work revolves around a simple yet profound commitment to improving PE standards. He believes in the power of collaboration, networking, and sharing insights with fellow educators to enhance collective practice. His research interests lie in exploring the nuances of meaningful PE experiences, experimenting with different PE pedagogies, and understanding the intricacies of teacher development and identity.
Throughout his experience as a leader in PE, Nathan has been fortunate to contribute to holistic curriculum design, expand extracurricular opportunities, and support teaching and learning initiatives across schools. Through modest efforts, such as facilitating CPD, practice-sharing initiatives, creating resources, and hosting a PE Podcast, Nathan aims to give back to the PE community which has given him so much.
Nathan is deeply committed to having a positive impact within the PE space. He is grateful for the opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute, and hopes that joining the PE Scholar team will be a fantastic opportunity for further development and to collaborate with other like-minded, inspirational PE people.
