In his recent blog Exploring Class Grouping in Physical Education, Lee Sullivan presented his current thinking based on his own research into the advantages and disadvantages of grouping by gender or ability. We were delighted that the blog prompted a lot of discussion on existing grouping practices in PE.
Lee also presented the idea of grouping students by personality and highlighted a survey used in Sport England’s Under the Skin research (2014). The survey was used to ascertain the attitudes and motivations of young people (14-25 years old) towards physical activity. Following the interest in the blog, and in particular this approach, we received a high number of requests for access to the survey.
